La Ragazza Italiana
Le avventure di una studentessa italoamericana in Italia
Il Duomo di Milano.
![]() Self PortraitI saw a little Italian man drawing portraits outside of the Galleria and I could not resist. We made a lot of awkward, smiley eye contact, as he drew me (it was weird- I don't know), but in the end I received this unique and special picture. | ![]() The Duomo | ![]() The DuomoI take really awkward pictures, but mom said I needed to post one in front of the Duomo. Pictured above is my first trip to the city center. |

On my second day in Milan, Italy, I traveled about 30 minutes to the famous Duomo and Galleria with a group of new friends. At this point, I had no cell phone service or ATM pass ("train pass"), but we managed to sneak on the tram undetected. The city center was filled with incredible shopping, restaurants, and bars. Lunch included drinks (the easiest way to identify American exchange students: cocktails with every meal) and a cannolo scomposto. In addition, the day wouldn't have been complete without a professional, hand-drawn self portrait done by an authentic Italian artist. After nearly an hour of drawing time, the result is pictured below.

Isn't She Lovely
