Salvaged Oktoberfest Photo

As usual, only a few ridiculous photos of me are salvaged (this being one of them). Luckily though, after arriving to Munch, I was able to find a traditional Oktoberfest dress. This picture was taken near the main entrance of the festival, where our adventures began.

Munich, Germany

Munich, Germany

After a few hours of Oktoberfest, Caroline (France) and I decided to leave the festival and search Munich city. We were amazed by the beautiful Christmas shops, intricate architecture of the buildings, and blend of modernity/antiquity throughout the city.

Apfelstrudel

Apfelstrudel

The day ended with a delicious apple strudel, covered in vanilla syrup, from a booth at Oktoberfest.

Caroline and I could not be sure what this is, but apparently it is good luck to rub the shield- so, we did.

Vegetarian Nikita

I swear, you cannot take a bad picture of Nikita (California, US)... still beautiful after a 10 hour bus ride. Here, she is enjoying some German pizza. Considering the amount of sausage and beef the germans eat, options were limited.

Mid-way through our day of exploring Munich city, Caroline and I found a small music festival.

Sugar Donut

Sugar Donut

While everyone else enjoyed their sour beer, I treated myself to this giant, sugary German donut. I am serious when I say, it was bigger than my face and I ate it all.

I was surprised to find out that Oktoberfest did not only have food, it was full of crazy rides, as well.

Hazelnut Vodka

Hazelnut Vodka

While everyone else enjoyed beer, a German waitress convinced me to try Hazelnut vodka. As soon as the liquor touched my mouth, I was certain it was the worst drink I had ever tasted in my life. 'Twas a sober Oktoberfest for young Nicole.

Inside Oktoberfest

Inside Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is both an indoor and outdoor event. Upon entering, people rush to find a table inside one of the many "tents" set up. Once you've found a table, you are served food/beer and can enjoy live (traditional) German music.
