Pavia Day Trip
Less than 30 minutes away from Milan is the quiet city of Pavia, Italy. My friend, Nate, and I headed out on a Wednesday afternoon to sightsee the city a bit and sample more new Italian food. We were extremely hungry when we arrived, so the day-trip started off with a quick pizza snack (first picture below). It was unexpectedly amazing, cheesy pizza.
Next we toured the city a bit, visiting the following destinations: Ponte Coperto, Duomo di Pavia, Chiesa di Santa Maria del Carmine, and Torri Mediovali. The Ponte Coperto, the beautiful bridge shown below, was one of my favorite sites in the city.
Still hungry and seeking lunch, we decided to try out a small local restaurant called Antica Trattoria Ferrari. I was a bit hesitant at first, but I was pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of my porcini ravioli meal. As always, soft Italian bread complimented our entrees and a delicious chocolate cake dessert concluded our lunch stop.
We continued to walk through the streets, decorated with Christmas lights, and explore the city until the evening. Around 5:30PM we headed back to Milan, but not before grabbing a final treat (Nutella crepe with coconut and cinnamon) to-go.
